How cool is that?

There is very little that can cheer me up after returning from a trip to New Orleans. I wake up in a gray fog of "meh," missing the warmth, the food, the people, the architecture, the music, and, of course, the cocktails of that most beautiful, strange, and fiercely individual city in the whole United States - maybe the world.

But having a recipe featured on the Food Network UK site? Well, now, that's gonna cheer me up a bit! And that's just what happened this morning. 

Recently the fabulous Sanjana Modha, both of the Food Network UK and the gorgeous blog KO Rasoi (if you don't know it you should go check it out. Immediately!) contacted me about contributing a Christmas recipe - either a canape, a cookie, or a cocktail -  to the site's Locally Sourced blog.

Well, choosing a cocktail was a no-brainer for me, so I went with the Cobbler, a rather festive tipple which you may remember from a previous post. But even if you've seen it on my blog already, you should definitely go check out the Food Network UK feature - not only did I tweak the recipe a bit, I also share the answers to burning holiday questions, such as my signature Christmas dish and the smells that remind me of Christmas. So fun. And just the thing to lift me out of my post New Orleans funk. In fact, the only thing I can think of that would be better would be if someone called me up right now and offered me a food-related job in New Orleans.  Hello? Anyone?? Well ... you know where to find me.
