I have one, and have started doing my cooking in a skillet instead of the tagine, because they simply don't hold enough. Plus, the clay ones (like mine) need a diffuser so they don't crack. If you haven't already done so, pick up a jar of ras el hanout spice, as well as some harissa. Both make a huge difference!
